Tuesday, November 23, 2004Another Sunny Day!Heh, it's nice and warm again -- even though it's late November and Thanksgiving is only days away. Yea, it's warmer here than other parts of the country, but it's not usually *this* warm this time of year. So we're loving it! For those coming into town for the holidays, there are a lot of ads in the newspaper that describe the holiday meals being served in the area restaurants. So don't worry, if you didn't get around to cooking yet, there'll be plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy a Thanksgiving feast. We've received a lot of email asking about the activities going on over the Christmas season, which officially kicks off this weekend with the Annual Christmas Boat Parade in North Myrtle Beach. You can check out the top area activities at Myrtle Beach Calendar of Events to decide which fun stuff you want to attend. Okay, the family's all coming over to our house this year... so time to go buy the turkey & fixin's ! Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving ! :-) sunshine Wednesday, November 10, 2004A November DayThe weather has taken a turn for the chillier, but it's still nice here in Myrtle Beach for late autumn... Much warmer than for some of our friends and family up north! We eat out all the time and can help any vacationers choose where they'd like to eat when they're in town. With over 1600 restaurants on the Grand Strand, even locals cannot eat at ALL of them ! We just finished a bunch of Myrtle Beach restaurants reviews and will be uploading them shortly. Christmas is getting closer, and we're looking forward to the annual Christmas Regatta on the Intracoastal Waterway in a few weeks. And, YES ! Conversative Republicans like us can breathe easier now. :-) sunshine Friday, October 15, 2004Another beautiful Autumn Day
We didn't do anything spectacular -- just a run to the bank, shopping at Lowe's for wood for some projects we're going to do, and working around the house. Both my husband and I love this time of year -- low humidity, temperatures in the 70s, sunny, clear air... wish it was like this year round ! There's always lots to do here for locals, too... Tomorrow is another festival at La Belle Amie Vineyard off Hwy 9 on the north end... I'm sure we'll be stopping by there to say hello to Chris. Then Capt. Juel's Hurricane Restaurant has customer appreciation night tomorrow evening before they close for winter... I'm sure we'll stop by there to say thanks for a great summer of eating to Dana and Joe. Sunday we'll have to start packing or at LEAST getting ready for a trip down to southern Florida -- we leave on Wednesday. Pretty exciting stuff I'll post about later. BTW, if anybody wants a baby kitten (or 2 or 3), we have three VERY cute orange and white kitties that are ready for a loving home. Check them out at www.myrtlebeachpets.com Y'all have a great weekend ! :-) sunshine Thursday, October 07, 2004Welcome to the Myrtle Beach Blog !My husband and I are Myrtle Beach locals and want to share our regular day-to-day experiences with people who love the Myrtle Beach area. Lots of people visit here and, because they love their vacation so much, think about moving here. Our posts MAY help some of you thinking about relocating see what regular year-round life at the beach is like. We'll start with today, October 7, 2004. It was REALLY nice out... warm and sunny, light breeze. I had a dentist appointment today down in south Myrtle Beach, so we decided to relax a bit (after my appointment), drove over to the downtown area by the pavilion, and walked 'til we found a place we wanted to eat by the ocean. We ended up at the little pub right next to the pavilion, where we had a killer BBQ sandwich and a basket of fried shrimp. It was open-air and we ate while feeling the ocean breeze on our faces and watching the people walk by on both the boardwalk and the sand. Instead of driving home the fastest way, we drove all the way up Ocean until it dead-ended in the residential district... saw lots of joggers, bikers, and walkers... beautiful day for all of that. :-) sunshine |
